For 18 years, Lake Rabun families and friends have celebrated the 4th of July with the running of the Rabun Ramble. While this is a healthy, fun, community event, it also serves a meaningful purpose. Net proceeds from the event go to support the work of the Lake Rabun Foundation along with donations made to Rabun County Search and Rescue and the Lakemont Wiley Fire Department Association.
Since its inception in 1987, the Foundation has provided almost $1.7 million in scholarship assistance to more than 239 Rabun County students. This year, 60+ Rabun students are attending colleges, technical schools and graduate programs with financial aid from the Foundation. In addition, the Foundation seeks to improve lives in Rabun County with grants to organizations involved with education, child and family welfare, food ministries, environmental programs, and community development.
You can make a difference and help maintain this tradition by joining us on race day as a participant, as a volunteer or by becoming a sponsor. The sustained success of the race will make it possible to help even more deserving Rabun County students and charitable organizations.
